Monsoon Shootout impresses us with its story-telling uniqueness

Filmy Digest

Everything is a winner in the film, the director, the narration, the performances, except one thing.

The film overall didn’t quite turn out to be a winner.

Why you ask, the engagement was missing in the film…One story, Different outcomes, the concept was an interesting one, but somewhere the film wasn’t that striking.

Watch it If you like -

Nirmata (Makers)

Amit Kumar as a director and writer was creative in executing a story with three different outcomes, and sending out a moral.

It’s not always about choosing between the good and bad, at times there is more to it.

But even with an unpredictable outcome, the director couldn’t keep us on the edge of our seats.

Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)

The narration is uncommon, the moral that comes out is good, but the story needed to be more interesting.

The dark theme looked good for it to be called a non-commercial film, but it needed an exceptionally engaging story as well.

Few good scenes and the film turned dull, that happened a lot. One just is more interested in what the climax will be than the whole story. Whereas it should have been both, both the story and climax should have been thrilling. We are a little disappointed because the movie has everything else in place to be a great thriller.

Abhineta (Actors)

Wish we had more of Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the film, wish we had more of his quirk. Nonetheless, the actor always leaves us fascinated.

Vijay Varma was good and convincing in his role. Neeraj Kabi as Khan always makes a point to impress, Tannishtha Chatterjee is decent given her short role. Geetanjali and Sreejita De on the other hand, totally make their presence felt in even short screen time.

Geet Sangeet (Music)

Pal by Arijit Singh really stands out in the film, it’s a good song undoubtedly.

Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)

The movie is stuck between an average and a good film, thankfully it didn’t fall to the former side and unfortunately it didn’t go towards latter as well. You may watch it, you may skip it.
