Written and directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, the film isn’t just a journey on music but a musical journey filled with emotions
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
Advait Chandan who used to manage Aamir Khan earlier, has now managed this complete film, making sure he lives to up to the expectations we all have from Aamir Khan films.
He owns the film honestly, every character, every scene, every moment, every frame is so real and connecting.
Talk about the film’s pace, the editing, the flow, everything is in place. The little affectionate moments, the gulping down of tears, the burst of emotions, dream coming true, it just leaves you emotional and smiling at the same time.
The film belongs to every actor in the film. But we have to say that the mother-daughter bond and performance is the highlight of the film, Zaira Wasim & Meher Vij were just beyond words.
Aamir Khan in his bindaas avatar is tremendous as ever. It was so much fun watching him in this reinvented modernized Rangeela mode.
Raj Arjun as Farookh Malik is ultra-convincing and influential in his act. His mere entry in a scene will make you fear the scene. Just too good. Tirth Sharma as Chintan Parekh makes you miss your school days, too convincing and too delightful.
Kabir Sajid as Guddu as Insia’s younger brother is so cute. Farrukh Jaffer as Badi Aapa Mona and Ambegaonkar as Sheena Sabawala great in their short but well established roles.
Geet Sangeet (Music)
Every song in the film is either an instant hit or slow poison. Perfectly crafted for and as per the film’s feel.
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
The movie leaves you spellbound because of its feel, because of the simple way it is treated, because of the influence it leaves on you.
Do watch it irrespective of whether you are a dreamer or not.
