Films like Welcome to New York show that Bollywood has a lot of money to waste
But wait, we are sorry, this isn’t a film, it’s an IIFA event.
As if the hyped award show needed any more publicity! Guess they did.
And just like award shows prove the wastage that goes around, this film also adds to that fact that our industry has a lot of moolah to squander.
Even if you have absolutely nothing to do, don’t go watch this trauma.

To the makers of the film: how about putting money to good use! This cant be a director’s Bollywood debut, Chakri Toleti should have at least asked or ventured into a decent script.
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
Yes, script, it is bad!
The extent you may ask? Get this, it is as annoying as the face of film industry it is trying to joke on. Now that’s something new, it was trying to spoof something but end up mocking itself.
As soon as it starts, a long list of casts tells you ‘boss this is going to be tough’. But how tough, you realize that only after you have managed to sit through the whole film.
First why there is no story and why make a film? There is no purpose.
Second why force comedy into it?
Third why waste some good stars?
Fourth, why make it in 3D? God that’s the most important question!
Fifth, how did hailing PM Mode fit into all this?
Last, but not the least. If the film was to promote IIFA, it at least should have taken some good IIFF clippings.
And all this comes from a writer who has penned some good Punjabi movies, Dheeraj Rattan.
Be it a North superstar or Bollywood super mentor, no one can save a film written this badly.
So yes, acting is bad. Good actors turned bad, and bad turned worse. Why even get into that when the script wasn’t up to mark. Performances are discussed when you see actors were given something good but they didn’t live up to it.
How come Diljit, Karan, Sonakshi. Boman, Lara agree to work on something this silly!
Geet Sangeet (Music)
It is bad. Period. And the soundtrack has been used miserably in the movie, makes it torturous.
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
One brain-dead movie!
And who said Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year was bad!!!!!
Don’t go even if you get free tickets.
(Ideally this isn’t a film, so rating is not valid, but because the makers managed to some stars on-board with this script is quite an achievement /huh/)
