This Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh starrer tries really hard to be funny but fails
Spoof comedy is a genre that is not much explored in Bollywood. Director Rohit Jugraj tries something new with Arjun Patiala, but the movie fails to entertain. The movie tries hard to be funny and even the production looks like a regional film instead of a Bollywood film.
Watch it If you like -
If you are a Kriti Sanon fan then you should watch Arjun Patiala. Sunny Leona’s cameo gets a smile on our faces.
But Beware of -
Sloppy narration, bad dialogues, boring songs and mostly everything.

Arjun Patiala is produced by Dinesh Vijan who had also produced last year’s release Stree and before that Hindi Medium. We wonder what made him put his money in Arjun Patiala. Director Rohit Jugraj has directed Punjabi films earlier and here also his narration looks like a Punjabi film and not a Bollywood movie.
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
The movie revolves around three characters, Arjun Patiala (Diljit Dosanjh), Ritu Randhawa (Kriti Sanon) and Onida Singh (Varun Sharma). So what is it all about? It is about stereotyping mostly everything. There’s a Sikh cop, so the film tries to stereotype him quite well. He drinks every night, mouths lame dialogues that are supposed to be funny, and yes, of course he is cute. There’s an actress so give her a few romantic scenes, a scene where she shows that she is a strong headed woman, but soon give her a scene where she opts to call her boyfriend to save her from a goon. And there’s a sidekick who has clearly nothing to do.
Writers Ritesh Shah and Sandeep Reyzill clearly thought that the story their writing is funny, maybe it was on paper. But when it was turned into a film, it just became a blunder no one would want to watch.
Kriti Sanon is the only actor who gets a scope to perform and she is quite good. Diljit Dosanjh irritates because his character is badly written. Varun Sharma is doing something that he has been doing in mostly every film. Sunny Leone’s cameo is a relief.
Geet Sangeet (Music)
Apart from Deewana Tera Main, there’s no other track that leaves a mark. Even getting Sunny Leone for a special number couldn’t save the film.
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
If you are Kriti Sanon fan then you can watch Arjun Patiala, or else just skip it.
