When a sequel is made, we expect that the makers will take the franchise a notch higher, and when that doesn’t happen it really disappoints because it ruins the the legacy of a movie. Well, the same thing has happened with Bunty Aur Babli 2.
The cons are happening in the country again and the two people who are conning have named them Bunty and Babli. So, are the original Bunty and Babli back? Well no, but there’s new jodi of Bunty and Babli who are thugging people. Now, the original Bunty and Babli decide to find these new Bunty and Babli. and then starts the pros vs cons. So, who will win here, the new Bunty Aur Babli or the original Bunty Aur Babli?
We are sure after reading the synopsis of the film, you would think that this one will surely be an interesting film. But, let us burst your bubble here. While Bunty Aur Babli 2 had a potential to be a damn good heist comedy, it just turns out to be an average big screen outing.
The movie starts on a very good and there are a few scenes that will make you laugh out loud. But, the problem is the film is just good in bit and parts, and after a point it gets boring. Even the climax is predictable.
Performance wise, Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan have done a commendable job. They prove that they are the seniors and can make a dull scene lighten up just with their performance. Newcomers Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari are good as the new Bunty Aur Babli. The biggest disappointment here is Pankaj Tripathi. Such a talented actor like him is totally wasted in this movie.
On the whole, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is good in bits and parts but it fails to impress us like its first part.
