After being in the pipeline from the past six years, finally, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Ghoomketu has been released on the OTT platform, Zee5. The trailer of the film was strictly okay, but as the film stars Nawaz and Anurag Kashyap, we had thought that maybe the movie will turn out to be good. But, unfortunately, we are left disappointed.
The movie is about Ghoomketu (Nawazuddin), a writer from a small town who comes to Mumbai to fulfill his dream of writing Bollywood films. But well, it is surely not easy to make a mark in Bollywood. On the other hand, his family files a police complaint that he has run away from the house, so a cop in Mumbai, Inspector Badlani (Anurag) gets the case to search Ghoomketu. Will Ghoomketu be able to fulfil his dream or Inspector Badlani will find him and send him back to his house? Well, believe us, you would not want to know what happens with Ghoomketu as the film is simply a boring watch.
Ghoomketu is written and directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra and he has failed to come up with a good film. There’s no particular storyline that the film concentrates on. The screenplay is totally scattered and doesn’t really get to the point ever.
Performance-wise, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is good, but he has given better performances. Anurag Kashyap doesn’t have much to do and is fine in his role. Ragini Khanna has a cameo and she is decent. It is Ila Arun and Raghuvir Yadav’s performance that will make you laugh the most.
While the story, screenplay, and narration is weak, even the music is one of the elements that fail to impress.
Overall, Ghoomketu is a blah film and has nothing good to offer. So, you can skip it and wait for Shakuntala Devi and Gulabo Sitabo to release digitally.
