There’s a notion that if a film is bad the makers decide to release it on an OTT platform, and films like Haseen Dillruba prove it right. The movie starring Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, and Harshvardhan Rane has started streaming on Netflix today, and after watching it we can only say one thing that we wasted our 2 hours 16 minutes.
The movie revolves around three characters Rani (Taapsee), her husband Rishu (Vikrant), and his cousin Neel (Harshvardhan). Rani and Rishu’s marriage has hit a roadblock as Rishu isn’t great on the bed. Enters Neel, a hot-looking guy who charms Rani and they have sex. Rani falls in love with Neel, but for Neel, it’s just a fling. Rani tells Rishu about her and Neel, and then the movie moves forward torturing us at its best.
Writer Kanika Dhillon and director Vinil Mathew have surely created a mess here. The film doesn’t have anything that leaves an impact. There are a few scenes in the first half that are impressive, but other than that there’s nothing in Haseen Dillruba that makes it a decent watch. Also, the story is predictable, you will easily guess the climax and the way it has been shot, it’s just too bad.
Performance-wise, Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey have tried their best to save this movie. Taapsee as usual is good, and Vikrant is a revelation here. But, when the script and narration are so weak, what can such talented actors do. Harshvardhan Rane looks hot but doesn’t have a great role to showcase his acting talent.
Coming to music, that’s the only good element in the movie. Amit Trivedi’s songs get relief in this film.
On the whole, we just want to say don’t watch Haseen Dillruba. There are other films of Taapsee on Netflix, you can watch them.
