Fans who have been waiting to see Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan on the big screen together, their wait might end soon. According to a report in an entertainment portal, the two will team up for the remake of Satte Pe Satta to be directed by Farah Khan and produced by Rohit Shetty.
A source said, “Both Farah and Rohit wanted Deepika Padukone in the movie because not only do they love her but she fits the role to the T. When DP [Deepika Padukone] debuted, everyone felt she had an uncanny resemblance to Hema ji in terms of her beauty as well. When Farah narrated the story to DP, she loved it and instantly gave her nod.”
“Farah [Khan] has already discussed the idea with Hrithik Roshan, who has also given a verbal nod to the project. Farah has reworked the whole script and designed it to suit the contemporary times. They needed a superstar who would command the same screen presence as Big B and Duggu was their first choice,” the source added.
If the reports turn out to be true, then this will be Deepika and Farah’s third film together. The actress and the director have earlier teamed up for Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. Satte Pe Satta starred Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in the lead roles, it will be interesting to see if Hrithik and Deepika will recreate their magic in the remake or not.
