Madhubala was undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous and talented actresses of her time. While she has been a part of many films, every generation remembers her as Anarkali from Mughal-E-Azam.
Now according to a report in Deccan Chronicle, director Imtiaz Ali has bought the rights to make a biopic on the late legendary actress. However, it is not yet confirmed it will be a movie or a web series. A source stated, “There is so much material on Madhubala — right from her debut as a child artiste in Basant to her debut as a heroine at the age of 14 opposite Raj Kapoor in Neel Kamal. She never got an award and managed only one Filmfare nomination for Mughal-e-Azam in spite of working in 73 films in a 22 year-long career. There are other stories about her relationship with Dilip Kumar, her marriage with Kishore Kumar, and how she died a lonely death after being bedridden.”
Now the biggest question is who will star in the film. Well, a couple of years ago, Madhubala’s sister, Madhur Brij Bhushan, had stated that she would like Kareena Kapoor Khan to play Madhubala on the big screen. And we won’t be surprised if Imtiaz casts her in the biopic as one of the best films of the director has been Jab We Met which starred Kareena in the lead role.
