Tapsee’s vivaciousness, Abhishek’s composure & Vicky’s swag in a magical concoction by Anurag Kashyap and Amit Trivedi
There is hardly a soul who hasn’t loved the trailer of Manmarziyaan. And we can assure the same for the movie.
We have seen many love stories, but we haven’t seen anything like this one. Perfectly written, brilliantly performed and amazingly executed.
Once you watch this film, it’ll be a willful desire to watch it again.

Read Detail Review
It is kind of confusing what director Anurag Kashyap has done to the film. Did he surrender his experimental pattern for a commercial love story or did he add his signature to make a trendsetting love story?
And not that filmmaker hasn’t dealt with romance before, take the unforgettable Dev.D, what an unique form of love story.
Whatever he did, the result is an exceptional film.
This new avatar of the director, backed by his own production house and Aanand L. Rai, coupled with Sylvester Fonseca’s cinematography and KaniKa Dhillon’s writing has given us a love story touching the roots of reality.
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
This film starts off with a song and there we have it, the mood of the film has been laid, it will be all well SPIRITED.
And that is what differentiates this film from the likes of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Dhadkan. Seen before at the core, but to present commonness with a twist is our filmmaker’s specialty.
To add to it is Kanika Dhillon’s narrative of an explosive couple’s mad love story made delicious with Amritsari flavor. Whatever little flaws you happen to observe in the film will be overpowered by the feel and the energy the film has. There is no drama, no cliched dialogues, no rona-dhona, everything seems so real and hence relatable.
While everything about the film is interesting, there’s one thing that maximized the vive that oozes from the film. It’s the songs. For say, an emotional scene is wrapped up by a beautiful track and hence the chances of melodrama are totally erased. And not for a minute, the length of the movie pinches you.
Geet Sangeet (Music)
Music in the film is supportive and not an accessory. Brilliance in the form of Amit Trivedi is part of the film and 12 of his compositions have been used in an ultra-brilliant way. There isn’t a single song that we didn’t like, what a fab album.
This goes to very actor in the film but mainly for the three pillars, Tapsee, Abhishek and Vicky, you guys are not actors but gems.
A script for the leading lady mostly, and still every other role is patiently written. Its’ Tapsee’s vivaciousness, Abhishek’s composure and Vicky’s swag that gives breath to the film.
Taapsee Pannu is truly an atom bomb (as mentioned in the film). Amazingly written character portrayed more amazingly. Vicky Kaushal in his grungy look is mind-boggling. Abhishek Bachchan is the heart of the film, without him, the film would have felt rhythmless.
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
You will either like this film or you won’t, there is no in between, there can never be one with Anurag Kashyap. But hardly a chance that you won’t connect with the film.
Do what your heart wants, that’s the crux of the film. And this is something we all want but never accomplish. Anyhow, for now we have a wonderful film waiting in theaters. Go watch it and do some Manmarziyaan.
