Nirmata (Makers)

Making a film based on Mars Orbiter Mission would have been a really good subject for a documentary. But no, the makers here took the entertaining way to tell the story. Jagan Shakti makes his Bollywood directorial debut with this one and gets full marks for his narration.

Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)

So, the movie starts with Tara (Vidya Balan) and Rakesh (Akshay Kumar) heading a mission that unfortunately fails. Soon, Rakesh is told to head a mission mars, a mission that is impossible. But, Tara makes him believe that it is possible. Then the movie moves forward and it is shown how other scientists join them and they successfully complete the mission.
The best part about the film is that you know what is going to happen, but still, the screenplay and the narration keeps you hooked throughout. It doesn’t bore you even for a second and for that writers deserve applause.

Abhineta (Actors)

It is said that if you have a good star cast the half race is won and that’s the case with Mission Mangal. Akshay Kumar is fantastic, Vidya Balan is amazing, Taapsee Pannu and Sonakshi Sinha leave a mark, Sharman Joshi is good, and Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari are decent in their respective roles. HG Dattatreya is superb in his part. Dalip Tahil is average and his accent irritates at times. A special mention to Sanjay Kapoor’s dance on Ankhiyaan Milao.

Geet Sangeet (Music)

The movie doesn’t have the scope of music, but the song Dil Mein Mars Hai is a nice track. Even the background score is quite good.

Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)

Mission Mangal is a must-watch. It has all the elements a moviegoer would love to see in a film. By the way, it might inspire kids to become a scientist.
