Before becoming the King Khan of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan ruled small screen with his performance in serials like Fauji and Circus. This morning we all woke up to a sad news that the director of Fauji, Colonel Raj Kapoor, passed away at the age of 87.

Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to mourn Kapoor’s death and wrote a heartfelt post. He tweeted, “He loved me so much. Encouraged me. And today if I am used to being mollycoddled on sets it’s because of this man who made a ‘Fauji’ out of a boy, like his own. Will miss you Sir…always. May u find peace in ur new mission.”

Kapoor passed away on Wednesday night due to age-related issues.

Fauji was one of the hit TV series of the late 80s. It marked SRK’s debut on television.
