Shonali Bose’s last directorial was Margarita With a Straw. That movie showcased the journey of a physically challenged girl who discovers about her bisexuality. Now, Bose this time comes up with a film that is based on a real story. This could have easily been a sob fest, but Bose has made this a light-hearted yet an emotional film which will get a few tears in your eyes especially during the climax.
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
Niren Chaudhary (Farhan Akhtar) and Aditi Chaudhary (Priyanka Chopra) are happily married with a son Ishaan. Soon, Aditi gets pregnant again but they are concerned about having a second child. They decide to keep the child and Aisha enters their life. But Aisha is born without an immune system. While thanks to all the treatments at the age of 13 she is fine, but soon she is diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Chaudharys know that Aisha will die, but they want to give her everything best in her remaining days.
The movie is an emotional rollercoaster but doesn’t go overboard and that’s what we like about it. It has funny moments, it has emotional moments and it has moments that will get a smile on your face. The pace of the film in the first half is bit slow, but the movie picks up very well int he second half and the last 15-20 minutes, have your hands wiping your tears.
Priyanka, Priyanka! Priyanka, Priyanka! Well, we are so so so Happy to see Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a Bollywood film after a gap of three years, and she proves that she is one of the Best Actresses we have in Bollywood. Sorry, actually one of the best actresses across the globe. Farhan Akhtar is decent and Rohit Suresh Saraf leaves a mark. Now let’s talk about Zaira Wasim. This is mostly her last Bollywood film as she has decided to leave the industry, but she is so good in the film, we want to see her more in movies.
Geet Sangeet (Music)
Music is strictly okay and there could have been better songs here…
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
Overall, The Sky Is Pink is not a run of a mill Bollywood flick. It is different, emotional and it is just simply beautiful.
