Not Student Of The Year 2, this should have been titled as Mess Of The Year
Student Of The Year 2 is about Tiger Shroff’s muscles, Tara Sutaria’s bad acting and Ananya Panday’s promising debut, and yes it is a sequel of a hit film. Yes, that’s it, the film has nothing else in it.
Watch it If you like -

Some films don’t require a sequel and when you forcefully make one, it turns out to be Student Of The Year 2. Karan Johar made SOTY in 2012 and now after seven years his protege Punit Malhotra has directed SOTY 2. It could have been titled as Muscles of Tiger or Mess Of The Year. The film is a clear case of let’s make a sequel and thanks to the hit first installment, the second part will also do well at the box office. But wait audience are no more ‘duffer’. Remember what happened with Kalank?
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
Rohan (Tiger Shroff) dreams to go to Saint Teresa because his girlfriend Mrudula aka Mia studies there. But the girlfriend ditches him and now, his aim is to win Student Of The Year 2 trophy. Bravo, what an amazing story, LOL! Now what happens next, do you think Rohan will win the trophy? Guess karo yaar…
SOTY wasn’t a great film, but at least it was entertaining and we were excited to know who will win the trophy. Here, the excitement is missing, there’s no entertainment and yes, girls don’t participate in athletics and kabaddi, they only want to win dance competition. Which era are we leaving in? By the way, having a pink cycle makes you princess according to this movie.
There’s Tiger Shroff guys, he jumps, he dances, he shows off his flying kicks, but he can’t act. Tara Sutaria, as we earlier said one of the worst debuts from Dharma camp. The only saving grace of the film is Ananya Panday. She makes a confident debut and her comic timing is awesome and why not it’s in her blood. Aditya Seal is good in his bad guy role.
Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, Samir Soni and Gul Panag are wasted.
Geet Sangeet (Music)
Not even a single song in the film is good. Better sit at home ad listen to Radha or Disco Deewane or Ishq Wala Love.
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
Student Of the Year 2 is surely a film that needs to be ignored. Dharma needs to pull up their socks.
