Parineeti Chopra, Avinash Tiwari, Kirti Kulhari, and Aditi Rao Hydari starrer The Girl On The Train was all set to hit the big screens in 2020. But, the pandemic spoilt everything for the film and the movie has now got a direct-to-digital release on Netflix.

The Girl On The Train is about Mira (Parineeti Chopra), who is an alcoholic and a divorcee. She travels through a train in London every day and passes the house of Nushrat (Aditi Rao Hydari). Whenever she sees Nushrat, she recollects about her life, when she was happily married to Shekhar (Avinash Tiwary). One Nushrat goes missing and Mira gets involved in the case.

The movie is based on the book with the same name and, a Hollywood movie with the same name was made with Emily Blunt in the lead role. Well, the Hindi adaptation of The Girl On The Train is a good watch. If you haven’t read the book and watched the Hollywood film, you will thoroughly enjoy this Ribhu Dasgupta directorial.

The movie has its flaws like in between (somewhere post the first half), for around 15-20 mins the film falls flat. The screenplay and the narration just go for a toss making us bore. But, then the film once again picks up very well kepping us engaged till the climax.

Parineeti Chopra is good in the film and has performed well. Kirti Kulhari is okay, and Aditi Rao Hydari leaves a mark. Avinash Tiwary is a suprise here especially in the climax he has nailed it.

The music doesn’t help much in the film and the background score is also average.

On the whole, The Girl On The Train is a decent suspense- thriller and you can surely watch it once.
