Shashanka Ghosh, cheers to this ‘ka’ who anchored 4 beautiful ‘ki’s’ in the most entertaining way.
It’s the Dil Chahta Hai women version, and Sex and the city Bollywood version. But the film has its own USP too.
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
And it’s the dialogues. They are an instant connect. They are bold, do not sound cheap, they have that amusing element in them.
Then is the casting, the variety in roles and how they are written, and the performances. Fab! The conversations in the film are ultra-relatable.
There is flash and show, but even that is quite convincing. Fun moments we all have with are friends, what if you make a movie out of it, even more fun, right? That’s Veere Di Wedding or you.
Yes, it’s nothing you haven’t seen before if you follow Hollywood movies and TV shows, but interestingly new for Bollywood fans.
Also, it isn’t that we haven’t had female led films, we had Aisha, Angry Indian Goddesses, and may be more, but it’s the coolest of all. But wait, we don’t wish cool films to advertise brands in every other scene. Ah! lets just ignore that.
With some super fun parts, and some others that might seem to lack growth, nothing stops you from having fun.
Chick flick or not, the debate is never ending. There is nothing wrong in being a chick flick. Also, it is never right to label films. The point is, to have fun.
All actors have good screen time and established, well-written roles.
Kareena Kapoor as Kalindi Puri aka Kaalo, she took us back to her Jab We Met days with her vibrancy and freshness. Sonam Kapoor as Avni Sharma is innocently wild, she pulls off her role with ease and overloaded cuteness. Swara Bhaskar as Sakshi Soni, nobody else could have pulled off this bold role in such a high-toned manner. Shikha Talsania as Meera Sood, is adorably mast. We can’t agree that this her debut film, it can’t be, she was so confidently natural. Also, we would want to take this film as Swara’s debut as well, donning the glam role, she was a complete bad ass.
Sumeet Vyas as Rishabh Malhotra is the godsend boy every girl wants, and the actor pulls this role in the most naturally charming way. Vishwas Kini who plays Bhandari catches your eye from his very first scene with his dhaakad dialogue delivery. But we really wanted to know his full name in the movie (wink).
Ayesha Raza, Vivek Mushran, Manoj Pahwa, Neena Gupta, veteran actors leaving us all satisfied with their act and entertainment.
Geet Sangeet (Music)
The background score has quite a good variety. Music is good and has variety. We know the best song and we don’t have enough Tareefan for the same.
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
It’s a happy go lucky kind of bold, upmarket and smart entertainment.
