An edge-of-the-seat revenge drama
Amrish Puri was undoubtedly one of the best actors we have in the industry. From Mr. India to Damini to DDLJ, he was simply oustanding in each and every film. Now, his grandson, Vardhan Puri makes his Bollywood debut with a film titled Yeh Saali Aashiqui. Well, the trailer was interesting and thanlfully, the movie has also turned out to be quite interesting.

Cherag Ruparel has been an assistant director in my movies under YRF. He makes his directorial debut with Yeh Saali Aashiqui and well he does a good job. Of course, it is a not a perfect film and in some scenes the narration fails to keep us hooked, but for a first time director is quite good.
Alekh (Story) – Patkatha (Screenplay)
So, what is Yeh Saali Aashiqui all about. Sahil (Vardhan) and Meeti (Shivaleeka) study in the same college. They fall in love, but turns out that Meeti is using Sahil as he is a rich guy. Thanks to one misunderstanding starts a revenge story of Meeti and then in the second half it’s the revenge story of Sahil.
The movie is written by Cherag and Vardhan, and we must say that they have written a very interesting story. It is surely something new and has moments that will make you sit on the edge-of-your-seat. The first half is decent but could have been better, but it is the second half that takes to movie to another level and also the climax has been done very well.
Vardhan Puri makes an impressive debut. He proves that acting is in his blood. But we have to say he is better in the intense scenes and when he has to show the anger. Shivaleeka Oberoi is simply excellent. She is better than Vardhan and we really hope that gets more movies and we get to see her more on the big screen. Ruslan Mumtaz is good in his small role.
Geet Sangeet (Music)
The music of the film is decent. The track Sanki stands out and the background score is also quite good.
Nirnay (FilmyCurry Verdict)
Revenge-thrillers are rarely made in Bollywood and if they are made it has all the massy elements in it. But Yeh Saali Aashiqui is a revenge-thriller which has a very different kind of an approach and you will surely enjoy it.
